Base beds, in most markets (I think), generally have between 24 and 32 lamps total. And the majority of these beds run 100w, non-reflector lamps; the lowest output tanning lamps available. Up-grade beds from there have increasing numbers of higher output lamps (140w-200w reflector), and finally end up with an all high-pressure (commonly referred to as "HP") unit with most output possible in an approved tanning system. I hope these generalizations helped clear up some of the confusion; and like Coconut says, read up. There's a lot of BS (a lot of it mine, some of it not) on some of the threads, so don't hesitate to ask for clarifications and opinions. Opinion is my specialty. But I advize you to always get a second opinion just to make sure. Good luck.
