It sounds like the whole problem revolves around making one of the split payment types a credit card. Helios will want to charge the entire amount of the sale to the credit card and is not decreasing that amount when another payment type is also being selected to supplement the total of the sale. This is probably for security when it comes to electronic transactions being handled over the internet as Helios does when it processes a credit card transaction electronically. There are concerns of the total being manipulated and therefore the customer would actually be charged less than the sale total, then there would be no ability to 're-charge' the credit card after the discrepancy is discovered.
