Motivating employees is like trying to get someone to fall in love with you. You have to work on it every day with energy and passion. Good vibes and good attitudes are contagious. Lead by example. Treat them like they are the most important asset in your store. Compensate them as best as you can. "Love'em up" when they're gettin her done, and train them up when they're not. I don't know what CFS is, but the best form is training is the one that the individual understands best. For some people it's being told, for others it's written to be studied, and for others they need to see it in action, and most people learn really well from all three.
