| I got sucked into trying them. You lose "10 inches" (or whatever it is) by them measuring you in 25 different places (your shoulder, your bicep, just above your elbow, your forearm, your wrist,......) and adding together all those "1/4" and "1/2" inch "losses". Assuming you really DO lose - afterall, they control the tapemeasure and it isn't like you can measure yourself at home later with that close of accuracy to know if it really happened or didn't!
It is a racket. It works because you want to believe, so for the rest of the day you are careful about what you eat and don't drink anything. Also - the process of having to stand nearly naked in front of a full-length mirror while someone mummy wraps your gelatinous fat into cold wet ace bandages is so supremely humilating that that too acts as an appetite suppressant!!
That said - doesn't mean you can't SELL 'em!
