The Public Health Department states that a tanner/salon must abide by the recomended exposure time in Illinois. Which I agree with for clients who have not tanned before or it has been awhile since their last tan. What I am wondering is what about the clients who are coming from another salon down the street, who you can obviously see have tanned within the last day or two? I have new clients who throw a fit about this and would rather go back to the other salon because I will only let them tan for 6 min (depending on their skin type). Now these are the departments rules. I read that the FDA requires you to follow this chart for clients who are "building" up to the full time. The ones who are regular tanners (new ones)have already built to their full time. What can I do? anything?
