As you stated Dan, that is YOUR opinion, but just because there are salons out there that have ETS equipment only, does not make them a "low end" salon, or any less of a "real salon". My salon is only a year and a half old, and maybe I haven't been open long enough to know how these 8 ETS beds will hold up, but I can tell you that my only REAL competition is one block away, has been open 4 years, has ERGO beds and has already had to have 2 of them serviced due to various reasons. Their German made beds were the reason for them waiting over a week to get one part and 5 days to get another. In the meantime, the clients who paid good money to tan in these broken down beds were forced to use the base beds. If they chose not to use the base beds, they were just out of luck because they were not compensated for having to downgrade. This in itself is another story on customer service! How do I know this? I was employed there for 3 years and it happened during that time. This does not make them any less of a salon (outside of no compensation), or ERGO any less of a tanning bed, but just shows that anything can happen with any make of bed at anytime.
Having been employed at that salon and now that I have my own I also know that alot of their clients have switched over to these "cheap" ETS beds of mine, love the beds and refuse to go back to the other salon. At the same time I'm sure I have lost some clients as every salon does.
For anyone to say that the beds look like crap after only a couple of years, has not been to my salon. These beds look like brand new still and work like new as well! It takes a little effort to keep ANY place sparkling like new. Upkeep is important for any tanning salon. If you take pride in your business it shows. Maybe in a few years you can look back at this post and laugh at me and say I told you so, but I'm sure that by then you will have had to replace a few things on your "high-tech" beds. For now, I will take my ETS beds and enjoy the income being made from them and the smiling faces on my clients as they return each time to use them. Thank you for allowing me to express myself, and good luck with your "high-end" salon.
