John,
L-tyrosine is a man made chemical that replicates the natural tyrosine that our skin naturally produces. The FDA is considering putting L-tyrosine on the list of controlled substances and if they do, then lotion manufacturers will be required to not use it in their lotions.
Lastly, most lotion manufacturers out there now are already removing L-tyrosine from their lotions. Please refer to Deputy Dan's post in this forum titled "Acetyl L-Tyrosine" where he says Quote:Now that we've had a few years of some big brand's tyrosineless products on the market along with the rest, have they worked as well for you?
Lots of people have told me their once favorite products haven't been performing for them as they used to.
Tyrosine is an expensive ingredient, one that drives the cost of manufacturing up quite a bit, but it does seem to be the heart of a true tanning lotion.
Does the fancy packaging sell you anyway or do you still look for the ingredient?
