April,
The way I read his letter, the Manufacturers are removing the L-Tyrosine because FDA and FTC findings are pointing toward making L-Tyrosine a "controlled substance."
First off, this guy is trying to make his firm look better after it's been discovered that their "Fact Book" may be less factual that expected.
Secondly, can anyone confirm that what he is saying now is correct? Let us not continue to jump to conclusions based upon a set of incomplete facts.
Third, if the FDA is or has considered putting L-Tyrosine on a "controlled substances list", then lotions will probably no longer contain L-Tyrosine. No Lotion manufacturer is going to operate under the FDA's guidelines for controlled substances.
Lastly, doesn’t the body also produce L-Tyrosine naturally? How can FDA consider banning it?
