The most high tech and expensive equipment in the industry uses plastic molded covers and panels. The use of plastic has nothing to do with the quality, or lack thereof of tanning beds or booths. ETS's problem is that they have used cheap plastic that cracks and yellows after a short period of time. They have also used plastic endcaps and hinges. For home equipment that is fine. But their higher end and more expensive equipment have solid frames, strong canopy supports, and perfectly adequate lift systems that are better designed than a lot of other equipment in use.
ETS has had pleanty of design problems in the past. But there major problem now is the lingering bad reputation. They do seem to be slow learners though. The Speed system lamps have only recently been discontinued. They should have been canned after the first year. Why they kept that line for as long as they did is beyond me.
