Healing Eczema from the inside out..
This time of year you may come across many guests who are suffering from Eczema.
Hallmarks of this skin condition/disorder are Inflamed, Itchy, Overly Dry and even Cracked Skin.

This disorder is typically associated with a family history of asthma, allergies or eczema.
There is a good chance that this disorder will raise its head during the colder season.

Topical steroids can help stop the itching.. but remember using this type of medication can thin the skin quite a bit..

Natural cures are best I think..
Food allergy tests…essential fats and zinc go beyond topical medications.

Food allergies are a well known fact in this disorder..
Most common foods that bring this on are eggs, peanuts, fish, wheat, milk and soybeans…
I suggest you avoid these foods for three weeks then begin to add these foods back into your diet one at a time and see if you are reactive. If you become reactive, get rid of them from your diet right away.. If you do not react.. it is probably alright to keep them in your diet..

Another way to see if you have food allergies is have a blood test.. This will be costly.. but you can find out quickly what to stay away from.. ( Most insurance will not cover this kind of testing..)… be sure your test includes checks for IgG as well as IgE.. this will ensure the food allergies will be found in the blood work..

Allergies from air born things like dust mites, pollen can cause a flair up in eczema..
Use a vacuum with a HEPA High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter.. these can reduce these allergies a lot. Look into getting a HEPA room filter if you are bad off… It is worth every penny…

Individuals can be sensitive if their fatty acids are out of wack.. or out of balance.
Suggest that a person with eczema change the fats and oils they eat…
Good fats include two types of fatty acids.. Omega 3s and Omega 6s..
The best source of Omega 3 come from fish oil.. it contains the DHA and the EPA…
Omega6 sources of fatty acids come from evening primrose oil and Black Currant oil..
( these can be found at your health food stores)..

Dosage: take 1,000-2,500 mg per day of evening primrose oil per day..

Remember trillions of bacteria live on our skin and in our gastrointestinal tract. If this balance is disrupted it can result in altering our immune system…

A deficiency of Zinc can also result in eczema..’
Take 50 mg of zinc..
Remember ……zinc picolinate is absorbed better than any other form of zinc in our body..

One last thing to help you with Eczema…
Licorice Root..
It is an anti-inflammatory and can be use topically or taken orally.
We have seen awesome results when it is in gel form and applied to the area three times a day..’
It has better penetration than cortisone cream.
( Licorice root gel is also available at your health food stores)…

I hope this helps you to help those who suffer from eczema.. and also help you if you are experiencing it this time of year..
