Why the sudden trend to longer lamps in beds?
79" 180W lamps are gaining popularity.

1) More tanning surface. Most lamps are approx. 72". with 2M lamps you get 7" more tanning area.

2) Most tanning lamps output is decreased 3" from each end(sometimes output can be cut in 1/2) so a 72" lamp only gives a good 66" of tanning surface. With 79" lamps you get a full 73" of good output.

3) Great for taller customers.

4) Some applications may be 15-20% more effective than standard 160w Reflector lamps.

*Many manufacturers are using these: Sontegra, Sunsource, Sun Dash Genesis, Pro Sun,Ultrasun Sunfit, Dr. Mueller, Heartland, Tan Systems, and others
