I would like to ask a few questions..
Do you want to standup or lay down units?
How much time do you have in your busy schedule that you can spare for tanning?
(This info would help determine what type of bed you should be tanning in.)
What kind of lotion did you use that caused you to itch?
Find out what kind it was and avoid the ingredients that are in that lotions with similar ingredients.
I would suggest that you start out with a base building lotion with a bronzer.. it will jump start your tanning. my personal Fav to build a base tan for your skin type would be California Tans' "Ambrosia Dark Deluxe".
In a basic base bed (28-32 lamp unit)it will take a minimum of 7-10 visits to get a great base tan (Tanning every other day within a 14-21 day period of time) an monthly(30 Day) package might be a good option for you ..If you tan fast then small visit package may work for you as well.
Increasing the minutes per session gradually until you reach the maximum time allowed in that bed.
At which time I would suggest you upgrade to a larger bed (With facials or more facial
lamps then are in the base beds) which will allow you to finish off the base tan with a boost of color.
This type of bed will also have a reduce session time...Usually.
And Maintaining the tan will be easier and less visits weekly required to maintain your new found color, in these type of beds.
Unless of course you enjoy a 20 minute nap..I do at a times..hehehe
Now about your skin.. You really should follow the tips found in the skin care forum to maintain health skin tanned or not.
A great After Tan lotion will help in maintaining your tan inbetween appointments.
I and many other salon owners are very impressed with the new Moisturizer/After Tan from California Tan..TOTAL IMMERSION.
