I don't know the comparison of the VIP reflector vs non-reflector sunlamps (we haven't tested them) but perhaps the following information may help you.
The Cosmedico CosmoStar Longlife and the VLR use the same phosphors; the difference is that the CosmoStar does not have a built-in reflector and the VLR does. The te (time to 4.0 MED) time for the Cosmostar is 21 Minutes (20 - 22 range) while the VLR is 16 minutes (15 - 17 range). Thus, you can see that (in this case and - I suspect, in yours - the built-in reflector significantly reduces the te time.
If your TA sunbed (with the reflector sunlamps) has a 15 minute MTI (maximum timer interval), you have probably (inadvertendly) turned it into a 20 - 22 minute sunbed.
