Topic: How Many Beds to start? posted 04-12-2001 12:43 PM Hi All,My partner and I will be opening up a new salon soon. I live in a densly populated area of New Jersey with very few salons and have selected an area where growth is booming, and the call for tanning is very great, but not currently being met! I am considering starting with 2 standard beds, 2 medium strength beds, one VHR and onestand-up. This is still in the planning stages. My decisions will be based on square footage (obviously) and cost for leasing beds. I'd prefer to lease them to start. Am I headed in the right direction as far as number and type of beds? How about leasing, is this a good decision as well? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Laurie---I received one response this posting telling it sounded pretty good.Since then my partner and I decided to go with two entry level beds at 26 bulbs w/a facial tanner, two beds at 32 bulbs w/2 facial tanners, one bed at 40 bulbs w/3 facial tanners, one standup (to be determined) and one high pressure bed (to be determined). It would still be nice to get some feed back on this plan.
